Xbox Back… Alright!

After about two weeks, I’ve got my xbox 360 back with me at home. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly Microsoft got it back to me. They actually sent me a brand new console. Probably the best customer-service choice they could make really.
I made another little video about my experience:

Their timing couldn’t be any better with this being the launch week for Halo 3, which I already picked up at a midnight launch at my local GameStop store. I didn’t even pre-order! I can’t wait to play some only campaigns. Now if I can only keep straight who’s on my team, and who isn’t…

Life without Xbox360

So, it’s been nearly a week now since my newish Xbox 360 was struck by the ever so feared, Red Ring of Death.
See video of my plight:

It totally sucks, because Robot and I had just started some pretty fun online adventures. We totally kicked butt in Gears of War, and had just started playing Sierra Online’s sleeper hit of 1985… or something… Carassonne. By the way, if you know how to pronounce that word, please let me know. I keep saying something like “car-cass-oh-knee” or “carcas-on-ee.” I guess it’s German or something. But anyway, I hope I get the shipping box for my console soon (I’m waiting patiently Microsoft… for now), or I might just take it back to the store where I bought it and demand a new one. In the meantime, I’ll just be staring at the xbox wondering if it feels pain.

The Return

So here I am, delving back into the blogging world after what seems like a very long time. I guess I put HasserVision in hibernation back in late 2005, although I probably hadn’t posted since mid-’05.

Things have changed since then – mainly my geographical location. Within a 15 month span, I managed to move from one side of the country to the other, and back again. I didn’t exactly land in the same spot I took off from, but it’s not really too far away. I like where am I now… for now.

Not that the in between place, South Carolina, (see map) wasn’t nice. I loved it in fact. There were great people, beautiful scenery, manageable weather, awesome bbq, and it was close to my old stomping grounds of Indiana. It was great! But as fate would have it, my stay there was briefer than <pick your favorite celebrity>’s recent stint in rehab.

If I keep this vagabond lifestyle up I’m liable to end in Cuba, or who knows … I hear the weather in the Yukon is nice this time of year.

Anyway, now I live in the great state of California. I never thought I’d never see the day I’d live in a state where the governor has uttered the words “Come with me if you want to live,” or “It’s not a tumor,” but I guess stranger things have happened.

So, here I go again. Back in the blogging saddle, still feeling a little uneasy about it all. I’m definitely going to have to get used to this WordPress format. I’m sure this little template I slapped together will fall apart faster than President Bush can destroy diplomatic relations with South Korea.

Oh well, if you know WordPress and you see any gaffs in my site, please let me know. In the meantime, I’ll be here in Pacifica, gazing at the ocean.
